Our accommodation is in quiet, safe surroundings, only 35 minutes from Cape Town city and 45 minutes from Cape TownInternationalAirport. We are ideally located for Cape Point Nature Reserve, BouldersBeach with its famous colony of African Penguins, Constantia and other wine routes, Noordhoek art route, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, and many other areas of interest. Horse riding, bird watching, mountain walks, surfing and golf are all close by.
The luxury suites lead out to the large sparkling pool which is sheltered and solar heated. This lovely outdoor area is wind-protected and is ideally suited for having a gentle swim or relaxing on a lounger after a busy day’s sight-seeing. The beautiful landscaped garden with its pathways and seating areas, beckons guests to wander through and survey the indigenous plants and local birdlife. The lodge has secure parking within the fenced property which has access controlled gates.

Deposit Conditions
Reservations are only secured on the payment of a deposit of 50% of the total amount for the length of the stay.
The "Cottonwood Suite" is also entered from a private poolside patio area. The light and airy double aspect lounge leads out to a hallway which takes you to the modern bathroom or pretty bedroom with queen size bed. This room also has a double aspect and it’s patio doors open to a beautiful view of the mountainside.
Our luxury suites have been decorated with beautiful wooden custom designed furniture, each suite having an individual African flavour. These stylish suites comprise of separate lounge, bedroom and ensuite bathroom. Each lounge has comfortable armchairs, coffee table, writing desk, telephone, a well stocked mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities and flat screened TV. The tastefully furnished bedrooms have double wardrobes, mirrored dressing tables, radio alarm clocks and generous shelf and drawer space. The roomy bathrooms all have baths with circular shower areas. All suites have two private patio areas enabling one to choose to sit in the shade or the sun at any time of the day.
The Garden Room - A large room with natural stone walls and wooden paneling, situated snug in the garden with a view of Chapman's Peak mountain. It has warm pine furniture, a king size bed (or twin beds) and a comfortable seating area. The bedroom leads into a luxury bathroom with stand alone slipper bath and separate shower room. The lounge area has a mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities, a TV and an electronic safe. Outside is a small deck with rustic patio furniture. This room is popular with honeymoon couples. As the sun sets, enjoy a relaxing glass of wine while you listen to the last of the bird song and watch the ever changing sky fade behind the coastal mountains.
The "Oakwood Suite" has two separate entrances, the main having seated decking with fabulous views. The large lounge leads into the twin bedded bedroom which has a seated area looking out onto the pool. This second entrance also has a private sheltered patio, ideal for relaxing.

The "Oregon Suite" is entered from it’s private, poolside patio area. The lounge has it’s own fireplace set along one stone-clad wall and leads into the double bedroom. This room has patio doors looking out onto a second private, quiet area, which is shaded on a hot afternoon.

This is our only self catering unit and sleeps a maximum of 2 people. It has a fully self-contained kitchenette and a dinette. It is furnished with a double-bed, wardrobe, drawers, wicker chairs and has a TV and electronic safe. The Nest has its own secluded section of garden with braai and has lovely views of the sea and mountains. Set on its own away from the main house this cosy little log cabin has all that one needs to unwind and watch the world go by. Alternatively it makes a perfect base for the independent traveler.
Driving directions
From Cape TownInternationalAirport Take the N2 towards Cape Town. Before you reach the city turn off at Junction 6 – (Observatory) onto the M3 to Muizenberg, (also signposted Kirstenbosch and Rhodes Drive). Continue on the M3 to the end of the freeway (about 16Km) until it meets Steenberg Rd (Junction 23), at the T-junction turn right (M42), signposted to Ou Kaapse Weg and Fish Hoek.
After about 1 km turn left onto ‘Ou Kaapse Weg’ (M64), also sign posted Fish Hoek and Simons Town. Continue over the mountain pass until you reach the suburb of Sun Valley. Pass through one set of traffic lights at the second set of traffic lights, turn right towards Kommetjie on the M65. At the first traffic light on the M65 turn left into Capri Drive (brown Makapa signpost), then take the 5th road left, Grand Bahamas Drive. (brown Bed signpost). The 3rd road right is Java Close (brown Makapa signpost). Makapa Lodge is at the very end of the street, please ring the bell and speak to us on the intercom which is inside the wooden box to your right.
