Blaauwheim GuestHouse is a new exclusive establishment in Somerset West, run by co-owners Johan and Jo-Anne Blaauw. It consists of two luxurious suites, Pinotage and Chardonnay as well as a luxury double bedroom, Shiraz. Each apartment comprises a lounge/dining room/kitchenette, a spacious bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a guest toilet and veranda or balcony. There is ample secure parking available within the premises. The lush, treed garden boasts indigenous yellowwood trees frequented by many birds and a substantial collection of cycads.

Blaauwheim is in the heart of the famous Cape Winelands, near the long sandy beaches of the Strand and within easy reach of Hermanus, the whale watchers’ paradise. Golfers are spoilt for choice with a selection of golf courses on our doorstep. Stellenbosch, the second oldest town in the country, is a mere 10 minutes away and Franschhoek will take another 15 minutes along a beautiful scenic route.

 

Cape Town, which is famous for Table Mountain, Robben Island, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, excellent shopping centres, sports facilities, theatres and entertainment, is only 40 min away from our apartments. This vibrant metropolis with its kaleidoscope of culture is one of the top ten most visited cities in the world. The Airport is just 20 minutes away from Blaauwheim GuestHouse.

Check-in to your apartment is from 14h00 on the day of arrival, and check-out is by 10h30 on the day of departure. We will however try to accommodate guests for an earlier check-in if requested, subject to the availability of rooms.

 

Please notify us of your time of arrival and what time you want breakfast should you have chosen the B&B option.

Please note no children under the age of 12 allowed.

 

Payment Policy:

Payment can be made by way of our secure online Credit Card Payment page or bank draft or by electronic transfer into our bank account. All rates are quoted in South African Rand.

Driving directions

Take the N2 from Cape Town to Somerset West. Take Exit 43 onto the R44 and continue in the direction of Stellenbosch. Pass the Lord Charles Hotel (on the left) at the Main Road intersection. Drive up the hill and pass under a bridge. 500m after the bridge is a sign board that indicates Heldervue and Helderberg Village. Turn left, drive to the T-junction at the top of the road.Turn left into Bakkerskloof Road and proceed to Blaauwheim GuestHouse, the 3rd house on the left.
