Camps Bay

Camps Bay is a trendy upmarket suburb of Cape Town and one of South Africa’s premier tourist accommodation destinations. Camps Bay, nestling below the magnificent Twelve Apostles Mountains, has one of the most beautiful white sand beaches in the world. The suburb is 40 minutes from the airport, 15 minutes to the Cape Town Green Point 2010 Fifa World Cup Stadium, 20 minutes from the Cape Town city centre and Table Mountain, 20 minutes from the V & A Waterfront and close to premier golf courses.

Accommodation, mostly hotels and apartments, are generally upmarket. Most accommodation is within walking distance of the beach and most offer magnificent views across the Atlantic Ocean. Camps Bay offers a wide range of activities, including shopping, walking, hiking, swimming, surfing, tennis, squash, cycling. The intimate Theatre on the Bay offers superb productions throughout the year.

The beachfront of Camps Bay is a long stretch of white, palm tree-lined sand and along its length is a boulevard that forms part of a series of pavement cafes, bistros and restaurants specialising in Mediterranean fare that has earned Camps Bay its trendy and cosmopolitan character. The beach is lined with over 25 restaurants and bars and hums all day and in particular at night when Cape Town’s trendier set come out to play.

All the attractions of Cape Town are close at hand; the V & A Waterfront, the Table Mountain cableway and the city centre, yet Camps Bay enjoys a special uniqueness - come and experience it! The Table Mountain cableway is only minutes away from Camps Bay, over Kloof Nek, as is the city centre with bohemian Long Street, trendy Kloof Street and the many museums and galleries that make a good day’s trawling worthwhile.
