The Cape Overberg region is located on the southern-most tip of the African continent. Its coastline is famous for viewing the Southern Right Whales and it is recognized as one of the top wheat producing areas in South Africa. This area also showcases wild flowers in abundance. These floral jewels embrace mountains, valleys and coastal areas. The Overberg is home to an immense diversity of wild flowers and fynbos, many which are unique to the region.It is during winter that the less traveled roads are bordered by a colorful array of flowers. The many botanical gardens, parks and nature reserves exhibit these special flowers throughout the winter months.
