Koningskop Camp Site & 4x4 Trails offer private camping accommodation sites in a quiet, remote area found off the N7 on your way to Citrusdal from Cape Town. Pitch your tent under the shaded trees or park the caravan next to the river and enjoy the relaxing sounds of nature. Come and enjoy a peaceful weekend away from hustle and bustle of the city.

The camp site and 4x4 trails are situated on the farm Wilgerbosdrif between the Olifantsrivier mountains, 27km from Citrusdal and 17km from the N7 and 1 and a half hours drive from Cape Town. Bring your 4x4 and let it do what it was designed to, on our 4x4 trails. There is one for the adventours and one for the "not so brave", both have beautiful scenic views of the Swartland, Cederberg and Sandveld.

The camp site offers place for tents and caravans, where you can relax on the lawns and take in the peaceful surroundings. Take a hike and discover the original bushman’s drawings on the farm, while getting back to nature.

There are 19 sites, all on grass and mostly in the shadow of old oak trees.  Some of the sites have a degree of privacy (you need to book early) while others are laid out for larger groups wanting to enjoy each others company. A calm and peaceful atmosphere is created by the river which flows through the campsite, also the lack of cell phone reception helps!

 

The sites are suitable for caravans, tents and 4x4 trailers, each equipped with an electric point. For the hot summer days, you can enjoy the swimming pool filled with cold mountain spring water or a swim in the dam.

The clean ablution block has flushing toilets and hot showers, all the comforts of homeWe made sure there is enough to keep the kids busy while mom & dad relax (swimming pool, fishing in the dam, raft on the dam, wooden climbing frame with swings to mention a few)

For the rugged outdoor people, there is a Dry Camp (no facilities) on the Petoorskrans 4x4 trail.  This site offers complete privacy.  Please note that you need a 4x4 to get to it!

• Please note that 50% of the full quoted amount is due before arrival.

Cancellation Policy

• You will still need to pay:
• Prior to 60 days before arrival ‐ 5% of the deposit.
• 30 to 59 days before arrival ‐ 50% of the deposit.
• 15 to 29 days before arrival ‐ 100% of the deposit.
• 14 days or less before arrival ‐ 100% of the booking fee.
• Please note that all refunds are subject to a 15% Handling / administration fee, of the full value of your stay and will be charged to you / deducted from your deposit in the event of any cancellation

Driving directions

From Cape Town

Take the N7 National Road north
Go past the following towns (or stop and visit if you wish)
* Malmesbury
* Morreesburg
* Piketburg

At the top of the Piekenierskloof Pass turn left - if you get to Citrusdal you have gone to far, turn around! - Sign says "Paleisheuwel"
Follow the tarred road, which becomes a gravel road straight for about 18km.
Turn right at the road sign for the campsite, follow the signs and go carefully over the small bridge by the river.
Our offices are situated at the Wilgerbosdrif turnoff about 500m before the campsite turnoff.
