Wolfkop Nature Reserve, 175 km from Cape Town & 5km from Citrusdal village, is the ideal place from which to explore the West Coast. What better way to wind down after a long day’s drive than sitting in your own jacuzzi, chilled beer in hand, looking across a valley full of citrus orchards & rooibos fields, watching the sun sink behind the Cederberg mountains?

Citrusdal is in the Cederberg range and situated in the Olifants River Valley which has soft fruit & Rooibos farms and a multitude of activities.

Accommodation ON the Reserve includes 3 completely private self-catering cottages which have 2 bedrooms with twin beds in each room & a sleeper couch in the living room. The cottages also have an indoor fire place with fully equipped kitchen as well as TV 1,2,3 E-TV & air-conditioning, outside bush showers & small herb gardens for your cooking needs.

An outdoor braai facility Jacuzzi & hammocks is situated on the verandah overlooking the picturesque valley. The peace & serenity of the Reserve is only surpassed by the magnificent sunsets. The rustic experience of this FYNBOS reserve incl:

Features

The Nature Reserve's self catering cottages are +/- 1 ¾ hours drive from Cape Town and are situated in the Cederberg Mountains Wilderness range (Unesco World heritage site) 5 km from Citrusdal village on the Cape West Coast. Each Cottage with its own unique setting and Panoramic 180 degree views over the Oliphant river valley, is reached by private gravel winding road through the Fynbos fields. Each cottage has 2 rooms which are uniquely laid out with different types of African art material and colors all with Cotton percale bedding. The main bedroom has a queen size bed and 2 more single beds in the other room. Each bathroom has rain head showers and Eu Natural hot outside showers. Included is an open plan kitchen and living room with high wooden beam ceilings and deep sofas for your afternoon siestas and central fireplace day dreams. The Living room walks out through double doors onto the terrace with hammocks and lantern lit Jacuzzi which is the perfect spot to enjoy sundowners and light up your braai or experience star gazing at night. Fresh ground coffees are experienced by grinding your own beans with electric grinder and creating the perfect coffee which has even been complimented by Italian guests. Freshly hand squeezed orange juice provided in fridge during citrus harvest time.

Driving directions

From Cape Town:

Take the N1 direction Paarl. Take the N7 turnoff (left). Continue on the N7. Take the turn-off from the N7 highway towards Citrusdal. When you enter Citrusdal, stop at the first stop street and then turn right and carry on driving for 5km. You will see the entrance to the reserve, as it is a big brick wall on left hand side.
