Van Wyks Rus, situated in the West Coast town of St Helena Bay, is a fully equipped self catering holiday home (sleeps 7) just 500m from the beach with panoramic sea views. With long beautiful beaches to explore, it is the ideal place to simply kickoff your shoes & relax.

 

The tranquil bay is frequently visited by whales and dolphins which could be viewed from the patio. The West Coast is a bird watcher’s paradise and carpets of wild flowers and fynbos cover the region from Mid-July to Mid October. The clear, calm waters of the bay are ideal for swimming, boating and diving. Crayfish, snoek, galjoen and hottentot teem in the bay. There is launching facilities for light vessels (literally a minute drive). Ideal for mountain biking.

 

It is 150km west of Cape Town. Nearest Airport Cape Town International - 165km. The house is well-situated for day visits to the West Coast National Park, the West Coast Fossil Park, Cape Columbine Nature Reserve, the quaint fishing village of Paternoster, Tieties Bay. Elands Bay, Veldrif and Lamberts Bay even to explore some wine routes. Shelley Point golf course and clubhouse with Cattle Barron are only a five minute drive away.

Cancellation Terms

In the event of premature departure we may charge for the full original booking.

Cancellation 0 - 14 days before date of arrival, or no-show – visitor forfeits 100% of deposit paid.

Cancellation 15 - 28 days before date of arrival – visitor forfeits 75% of deposit paid or 25% of full quote value (whichever greater).

Cancellation 29+ days before date of arrival – visitor forfeits 50% of deposit paid or 25% of full quote value (whichever greater).

When traveling from Cape town on the West coast road(R27) towards Vredenburg, turn left at the Vredenburg turn-off.
When you enter Vredenburg, at the first robot you turn right towards Veldrif(R45).
Approximately 10km on the Veldrif road, take the St Helena Bay turn-off to the left.and travel towards St Helenabay.
After approximately 15km you get the shopping centre on you right hand side and another 600 meters further, turn left at the 2^nd turn off after the shopping centre across Sandy Point Beach Estate. Turn left at the first street, Albatros street into the gravel road, the first house on your right hand side is Van Wyks Rus.
